In the Piano Studio, students of all ages learn a combination of music theory, history, ear-training, sight-reading, technique, scales, cadences, arpeggios, and repertoire from all music periods.  Typically, students practice anywhere from 3 to 7 pieces at one time, depending on individual rates of progress.

Lesson fees cover one lesson per week, three recitals per year (summer’s POPS concert, as well as autumn and spring), stickers, candy, practice prizes, and the opportunity to participate in both competitive and non-competitive auditions, such as the National Piano Guild auditions (separate registration fees apply).

As with any skill, practicing is the key to success and progress.  Students are requested they spend the appropriate practice time, according to age and level.

Practice Time Requirements:

Beginner, Age 5-7 200 min. per 2 weeks
Beginner, Age 8+ 250 min. per 2 weeks
Intermediate 350 min. per 2 weeks
Advanced 450 min. per 2 weeks
