  Welcome!

Welcome to the Studio of Martha Lynn Carroll, where students receive professional and thorough education in the performance and theory of piano, strings and composition.  Martha has been teaching music since 1998 and is currently a member of the American College of Musicians and the Music Teachers National Association.  In 1996, she graduated summa cum laud from Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York, where she earned a Bachelor of Music in Composition with Piano Performance Honors.  She has participated in various orchestras and groups such as the Dekalb Symphony, Orchestra Atlanta, Syracuse University Orchestra, and the Syracuse Oratorio Society.

Martha has played the piano since 1981, the violin since 1986, and composed since 1983.  Besides these three venues, Martha also sings, conducts, plays the guitar, and arranges music.  She served as Music Director, Pianist, and Choir Director at The Rock Presbyterian Church in Stockbridge, GA from 1998-2003, and has also participated in the music at other churches and religious gatherings around the country, such as New Hampshire, Massachusetts, New York, Tennessee, and Georgia.  She served as Pianist at Grace Baptist Church in Cumming, GA from 2006-2009.  She currently plays piano and violin occasionally at Church of the Apostles North, in Dawsonville, GA.

The studio is open to anyone age five or older who is interested in learning the timeless, greatly rewarding skill of playing an instrument or composing music.  Martha teaches in her studio in Cumming, which is located about five miles from GA Hwy 400.  Although some music teachers do not teach during the summer, students at Martha's studio receive one lesson per week, year-round, since any extended length of time away from an instrument is proven to be harmful, causing students to forget and get out of practice, and even possibly lose interest.

Besides her love of music, Martha also serves as a professional author, editor, illustrator and painter, and most importantly: wife and mother.

Thank you for taking the time to visit the Studio of Martha Lynn Carroll. Feel free to read about individual piano and string lessons.  You may contact Martha at martha@mlcstudio.com or (770)869-4973 for further information, available times and to schedule a free evaluation.
